This tour is initially available as an 8-day option, however, to extend your enjoyment, you can opt to extend your stay in Bohol, for a total duration of 10, 12 or 14 days.

DAY 1 | Arrival in Cebu

Arrival in Cebu.

Customs formalities. You will be welcomed and assisted by our representative, who will offer you:

Transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2 | Cebu - Sumilon

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to Sumilon (approx. 3-hour drive then 30 - 45 minutes by boat). Make your own lunch arrangements. Settle into your hotel room.

DAY 3 | Whale shark watching in Oslob

Breakfast at the hotel.

7 p.m.: pick-up time from the hotel lobby. You will then continue on to visit the Oslob Whaleshark with lunch.

Oslob is a town three hours south of Cebu City where you can see and swim with whale sharks also known as Butandings (Filipino name). You can expect to see up to 4 (or more) whale sharks, including mature males, females and a few juveniles. The fishermen divide the whale sharks into two groups and feed them between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. with artemia (their natural food) from small fishing boats so that visitors will be sure to see quite a few of them. Whale sharks live in the area all year round and the best time to spot them is just after dawn, when the sea is generally calm. Guests must pay $20 per person to enter the Tanawan boarding area. Watching whale sharks is on many people's bucket lists, and in recent years the Butanding Tours to Oslob have become a must. Oslob is now known the world over as one of the best whale shark observation and swimming sites in the world.

The whale shark is the largest fish in the world. It is between 4 to 14 metres long and weighs around 10 tonnes. Harmless to humans, it only eats plankton or small fish up to 10 centimetres long (sardines, anchovies). It is therefore an exception in regards to the rest of the shark family.

DAY 5 | Sumilon - Bohol

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the port of Dumaguete at 1 p.m: Dumaguete - Tagbilaran ferry.

Arrival at the port of Tagbilaran. Welcome by our MASAYA WONDERLAND representative and transfer to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 6 | Bohol: the Chocolate Hills and the Loboc River

Breakfast at the hotel.

A very special natural phenomenon awaits you that day. 9 a.m.: You will be picked up and driven to the Chocolate Hills. No, don't take it literally, it's not something just for people with a sweet tooth. And yet the landscape you'll see is reminiscent of chocolate hills. In a very flat area, there are more than 1,200 conical hills. There are various myths surrounding the origins of this landscape. Your guide will be able to tell you all of them. You'll also have the chance to see the Bilar Man-Made Forest. The forest stretches for two kilometres and is densely populated with mahogany trees. This forest is called man-made as the mahogany trees were planted by students many years ago. You can also admire the famous tarsiers. It's a popular Bohol icon. The Philippine tarsier is known as one of the world's smallest primates. It is regarded as the mammal with the largest eyes in proportion to its body. You must never touch them, and you must turn off your camera flash, as they are very fearful and vulnerable animals.

Then, it's off to Baclayon church. Considered one of the oldest Catholic churches in the Philippines, it is dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. It was founded in 1596.

End the day with a visit to the "Blood Compact Shrine" monument in Tagbilaran. This marks the site of the pact between Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi (local people and Spaniards). This act symbolises the peace and friendship between them, a pact that was sealed on 16 March 1565.

Lunch cruise on the Loboc River. A visit to Bohol is never complete without a trip along the Loboc River and lunch. The floating restaurant will not satisfy your hunger cravings, but the lush trees along the serene river during this cruise will provide an opportunity for absolute relaxation. Once you've boarded the floating restaurant, you can choose your seat and start eating. Everywhere you look, there are lush green trees and blue skies.

DAY 7 | Day at your leisure in Bohol

Breakfast at the hotel.

DAY 8 | Bohol - Cebu (for the 8-day stay)

Depart for the port of Tagbilaran to catch a ferry to Cebu. Departure by ferry to Cebu in business class.

BOHOL EXTENSION in 10-, 12- or 14-day package

If you opt for the 10 days/9 nights package:

Days 7 to 9: Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the hotel's facilities, private beach (hammock, sun loungers) and water sports (paddleboarding, canoeing, etc.). Own arrangements for lunch and dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 10: Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the port of Tagbilaran to catch a ferry to Cebu. Departure by ferry to Cebu in business class. Arrival at the port of Cebu. Transfer to Cebu airport. If you opt for the 12 days/11 nights package:

CUSTOMS FORMALITIES:

All travellers must present a passport valid for 6 months from the date of arrival in the Philippines and a return or onward ticket. For more information, visit the website of the Embassy of the Philippines in France (https://parispe.dfa.gov.ph/).

It is possible to travel to the Philippines without a visa. The entry stamp issued on arrival by the immigration service authorises a stay of up to 30 days.

On departure at the airport, travellers must pay a tax of 200 pesos in Manila (less in the provinces) for domestic flights and 550 pesos for international flights (unless the tax is included in the price of the ticket).

CURRENCY:

The Philippine peso is the currency of the Republic of the Philippines. Its international ISO 4217 code is PHP. As of 01.10.2024, 1 PHP corresponds to 0.016 EUR. Conversely, 1 EUR corresponds to 62 PHP.

TRANSFERS:

Airport/hotel transfer: on arrival at Cebu airport, you will be met by our representative with a Masaya sign and your name. On the last day, you will be transferred from Bohol to Cebu by ferry and then by private air-conditioned vehicle to Cebu airport. Our team will assist you with the check-in formalities for your international flight.

Transfers mentioned as included in the itinerary are in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Please note that no driver or vehicle is included during the free stay in Bohol.

Dumaguete - Tagbilaran - Cebu transfers are included and are made via Oceanjet Tourist Class ferry.

Important: The departure flight must take off after 7 p.m.

Practical details

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.

Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.

Transportation

Choose an offer and, according to your preferences, opt for a seat in economy, business or first class.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.

You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.

You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.

There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.

Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.

In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
